Also, the following commands were provided by TGF: F2 - New Game F1 - This help file, duh Ctrl-M - Toggle Music Ctrl-S - Toggle Sounds Ctrl-P - Pause the game (music will keep playing) Ctrl-Y - Player Controls. You can switch the control keys by clicking the little X. F8 - Hides/shows the game menu. Alt-F4 - Quits. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- HINTS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Training Level: Hit the ! blocks from underneath to see their messages. Do not move again until you finish reading, because you might accidently hit the invisible "disappear" switch. Each message can only be read one time. You can jump on top of these blocks, by the way. Earth: Dodging Jigglypuff's shots at the beginning should be your top priority. You have plenty of time to go back and try again for the red key if you miss the first time. It's possible, when you jump from the left edge of Jigglypuff's pit, to jump over the second platform and land directly in the alcove. Cyclopsis: Press the switch and run back to the start and grab the plasma gun. Point it upwards (press the up button) and fire, and it can destroy a falling rock. Atlantis: Avoid touching the cacti - they're dealy! Swim slowly in the red key area to stop just above the cacti, and swim past them. Pokemon World: Not much here - just beware of the falling rocks in the blue key area. Tamagotchi World: Be extra careful when crossing the area with the falling rocks. Try to land at either end of each platform, never in the middle. Do NOT fall down to the start after getting the key; the bridge is gone and you'll be stuck there. You'll need to go back through the rocks. The Chase: A real toughie. Just go as fast as you can. Even if you're far ahead, he'll catch up to you because it gets harder later on. Pokemon Mothership: Don't be too hasty when dealing with the cannons. Wait until all the lights are gone before you pass them. Also, try to get a running start on the third shallow lava pit. The Final Battle: A good idea would be to stand in the middle or on the right side of the room during the battle. Dogding Pikachu's shots is very important. Shoot as soon as you land on the platform again, and then be ready to jump. Bonus Level: Platform Problems: Just be sure to make accurate jumps, or you'll fall back to the bottom again. Bonus Level: The Zoo: The long climb can be quite frustrating, because of the way you'll start to fall and not be able to stop. Just be patient. I deliberately decreased your left/right moving speed in this level so this would be easier. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECRET LEVEL HINTS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Cyclopsis: You need to get a blue key to get to the bonus level, but it is not on the screen. But if you jump high enough, you can leave the screen for a second, too. Remember: just because a building LOOKS high, doesn't mean it IS high... Pokemon World: You can't see it at first, but you'll need to get to the inside of the mountain. Don't worry, there has to be a way in... Training Level (!!!): I meant what I said. ;-) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- BUGS/SPOILERS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EARTH: None. Cyclopsis: None. Atlantis: None. Pokemon World: While falling from high up, flashes of the inside of the mountain may show up, brielfy revealing the secret room inside. Tamagotchi World: None. The Chase: None. Pokemon Mothership: None. The Final Battle: There are two here: 1. After Pikachu is destroyed, the red bocks that appear may appear right on top of you, if you're on their spot at the time. Keep to the right as soon as you fire your last shot, so you won't be in their way. 2. If you stand over to the far left of Pikachu's room, he'll stop moving as soon as he reaches the right side. In other words, if you can't see him, he can't move. Doing this on purpose is possible, but that ruins the fight. What's the matter, too chicken to fight him normally? Bonus Level: Platform Problems: None. Bonus Level: The Zoo: The same bug as in the Pokemon World level may occur in Squirtle's room. If you get caught in one of these bugs and can't get out, you can restart the level by pressing R. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- VERSION INFO ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This version of the game is 2.0. It contains MANY special changes and bug fixes that were not present in version 1.2/1.3. These changes are: * Jigglypuff's shots don't kill you anymore, they just immobilize you temporalily. She now turns around when she changes direction, and she only shoots when you are close. * Tentacruel also shoots only when you are close. * The rocks in the Tamagotchi world fall a bit more slowly. * Pikachu is a bit slower in the Chase level. * The cannons on the Pokemon Mothership shoot more often, but the bug is not entirely gone. The cannons now make sounds when they shoot, too. * If you take an extra life and then press R, the life will be taken back. That's right, no more free lives, chickens! :-} * The credits screen now scrolls! * The title screen now scrolls when you press the new "about" button. When you press it, you will see info about the game and about my site. If you press "Other Projects," you will be taken to the new "My Other Projects" screen. You'll even get to see a picture of the Earth mini-pack! * Also from the title screen is a screen called the Music Test. Now you can listen to your favorite song from the game without actually visiting that screen! Press "back" to return to the title screen. * Hooray! My game finally has its own icon!! * New sounds have been added! There are now sounds for hitting a locked door, taking a key, picking up an item, and getting a Plasma Gun. * Music has been added to the training level. It is from Üz, a puzzle game from MasterWorks Software. BTW, the music on the "Other Projects" screen is also from Üz. And expect to see Üz music in the mini-packs, as well! * I changed the music on the credits screen from Mario Bros. 3 to something more recent: Super Mario 64's credits theme. * That's it! Did you think there was more!? I've already got 13 changes! Geez. :-P Changes/Bug Fixes since version 1.1: * After figuring out that the game was too tough for first-time players (I tested it so much it became a cinch), I included a special training level. I also included a bonus room with an extra life there... where is it? (MAIN GAME) * In level 1, Jigglypuff's shots are only half as fast. (MAIN GAME AND EARTH LEVELS) * I think I fixed the Death Switch bug in level 2. Tell me if you come across it again. (MAIN GAME) * I added a key counter, so the keys you have will show up in the top right corner of the play field. (ALL GAMES) Changes/Bug Fixes since version 1.0: * You no longer have unlimited lives. A life counter is now present at the top-left of your game window. It starts at five. Along the way you can pick up extra lives (frequently found in bonus levels). BTW, unlike some games, there is NO 0 life. If you have only 1 life left, that's your last. (ALL GAMES) * The bug that made cannons fire more than one shot at a time has been fixed. (ALL GAMES) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- COPYRIGHT/LEGAL STUFF ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't care very much about this sort of thing, but there are a few "courtesy" rules that you should follow (in other words, these thoughts shouldn't have entered your head in the first place): 1. Do NOT use this game, or any of the minigames, as a base to build your own game, until my object library is posted on my site (will be soon). 2. Don't edit my game at all. If you find a bug that I can fix, tell me and I'll fix it. Please, don't edit this game and pass it off as something you made. That's about as low as they go. 3. If you want to put this game on your site, go ahead. But please give me some credit (or at least a link to my site). - The Net Nomad (jwall0312@aol.com)
