Ah...another unfinished game.
Though the animations are done smoothly, the shooting system is all wonky, thanks to the platform movement screwing with the shooting direction. Seriously, don't submit a game if it's not even finished. :P

Why?

Hello again, M2k games reviews. It's been a long time hasn't it? Well I've decided to do a few more reviews over the next week. It'll be a laugh, I know, as there's such a great quantity of "quality" games on this site.

This first one which I've just played took about 2 minutes until it ended. That's right, 2 minutes of action packed fun. NOT. I'm sorry to be a moody git, but when you upload a game AT LEAST put it in an .exe file. I had to open the game with TGF before I could play it - and you don't want everyone seeing all of your code that you've worked so hard to create...

The game consists of ONE level. But that's okay, because it's only a demo after all. The problems is the level is just dire. You play as Megaman (there's NO involvement whatsoever of Sonic, apart from being in the title menu), and all you have to do is travel over some nicely sprited (stolen) tiles, get a key, and go to the end flag. The level consists of nothing, it's more like an engine test, but it just uses the built in TGF platform engine. The level does start quite nice, to be fair, Megaman comes down in a beam of light, I thought "This could be okay." I was wrong. Megaman spazzes out on the platforms, and the controls ARE STUPIDDD! Seriously, I don't want to use ASDW controls on a TGF platform game, where shift is to jump and ctrl is to shoot. I felt like a retard playing.

Oh, that's right yes, you can shoot. I can happily say the animations all change in relevance to what you're doing, and the lazer actually shoots from the right place (even though it sometimes goes in the wrong direction, such as to the floor). BUT it's still rubbish, the enemies DON'T put up a fight - AT ALL. You shoot them once and a little collactable ball appears where they were. You collect it but it doesn't do anything...

ANYWAY, after this brilliant level, for whatever reason, you go into what I can only guess is a BOSS level, that isn't finished. Seriously. There's some text saying it isn't finished and a button to quit. Is this genuine?? Couldn't the maker have just removed this level from the demo? Did he want to show it off so far? If so, WHY? It's rubbish - the boss character just follows a VERY POOR path movement... You can't even shoot anymore. There's NOTHING here - not even any new graphics, just the same boring tiles as the first level (they are pretty boring), and the background on these levels, I can honestly say should have just been left white, because the eye killing green background that has been used is nothing short of terrible!

Good points? It's Megaman I guess - so that's okay. It has a fully working health system and there's a game over screen! Not bad. Worst point? The controls, I had to figure them out for myself, there's an option on the menu which says "controls", but it doesn't do anything. If that worked, and I could see the controls, maybe I'd be happier.

Right. It's off to work for me. Ugh.
