Pretty cool game. It would be ausome if you made a huge alien at the end to defeat. Just a thought. Nice person too on the platform. Are you going to make a full version?
Alien Slayer, now here's a game that deserves a review!
Although it's only a demo, it's WORTH downloading! And that's something we can rarely say about games on this website. I enjoyed what I played here, it's a short and sweet platformer, you play as a small combat dude armed with some sort of rifle, and have to kill aliens and make your way to the top of the level by climbing ladders, and you even have a nice looking health bar. The graphics aren't brilliant, just gray blocks and simple looking aliens, but they're all hand drawn and the playable character looks really nice. The music has also been taken from elsewhere other than the TGF library.
Unfortunately the game uses the TGF built in engine, but it's probably a first game and far better than mine was. There are a few issues, of course, like the screen shaking slightly as it scrolls, but it's nothing too bad and that can't be sorted. Also, the alien enemies soon become boring - there's only one type of enemy until the end of the demo, and the new one just shoots green bullets. Makes me wonder what else the maker would design without using more advanced techniques, as the aliens are clearly just on a path movement. And he'll have to add far more colour and design to the levels to keep this game fun, as it could fast become boring.
So, it has potential, but needs work. It's not ready for the scrap heap yet though!
