INVASION OF THE POKEMON: CYCLOPSIS LEVELS (Turn on Word Wrap now) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This 6-level set has scenes from Cyclopsis that I decided to use. They are a group of rooftops, a computer center, a park, downtown, and a new battle with Pikachu. It also includes a bonus level - can you find it? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- HINTS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Roof Hopping: After getting the red key, stand at the edge of the blue area and wait for Beedrill to fire. Then, jump out, to the right, and take shelter in the next building. After Beedrill fires, go back, and jump up to the ledge on the left side. A hidden trigger here will stop Beedrill from firing until you reach the switch. Computer Core: A really tough level. But all you really need in this level is patience. In the room with the blue key in it, just wait until all three balls are not in the area, then grab the blue key and run back to the doorway. In the second room, either wait until the ball is above the door, or until it's caught under the crusher. Get the key and wait there for the crushers to come down again. In the room behind the gray door, wait for (preferrably) all three balls to come out of their rooms, and then go. Make sure to go to the right side first! The Park: Much easier. This level requires accurate jumping, such as getting into the yellow and red doors, and getting to the yellow key. As for the Death Switch, stand on the left side of it and have Arbok shoot it by accident. Downtown: When you get to the roof, turn right and fire. Follow the shot, and you'll see it knock out a wall. Do the same on the left side of the roof. Then fall to the left and get the red and yellow keys. Later, when you meet Venosaur, wait for him to shoot. If you move back to the left edge of the windowsill and he shoots, chances are his shot will go right over your head. You then have 5 seconds to jump on his platform (careful!) and get to the switch. Shrine of the Ruby: You need to be on the right side to start the battle. Pikachu will start moving to the left, which will buy you some time to dodge the ruby's first shot. After that, the best way (risky but easy) to fight Pikachu is to stand in the doorway, on either side of the middle but not right on it (one of the three shots goes there). Jump whenever Pikachu is near you. After grabbing the ruby, go out the door by pressing up, like you would any other door. Bonus Level: Spiral: The bouncing balls really aren't as hard to pass as they look. Just be sure they're not all together when you try to pass them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SECRET LEVEL ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Downtown: That yellow key isn't there for nothing. I know that flag looks tempting, but wasn't there another window you couldn't reach? The way to reach it should be pretty clear, considering that Venosaur is gone. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- BUGS/SPOILERS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Roof Hopping: None. Computer Core: Since there are only three cannons, they will fire this time. But in the red key area, the bouncing ball often gets stuck, either when it's at the top and the crusher is going up, or when the crusher comes down on it. But this is only temporary. The Park: Since you stop scrolling when you get into the room behind the blue door, the action will speed up a little. It's easy to miss your first jump this way. Just keep working at it. Downtown: None. Shrine of the Ruby: The two blocks on the sides reappear as soon as you beat Pikachu. Try not to stand there. Although getting stuck in the blocks may serve as good punishment for using the same spoiler you could have used in the original game, since it can happen. :-P Bonus Level: Spiral: It's possible (rather easy, too) to run straight left from the beginning and avoid all the cannons before they even fire. But that would be too easy for YOU... now, wouldn't it?
